Coffee can serve as a powerful way to connect communities worldwide and generate mutual and positive impact by promoting a better understanding of history, culture, economics, and our world today. However, we believe its power has been overlooked but can be re-directed by targeting efforts to repair social fabric in countries like Colombia that have endured decades of armed conflict.
For this reason, we have chosen to support smallholder farmers in some of the most remote regions of Colombia in order to raise awareness of the adversity they face as they grapple with extraordinary challenges to produce and transport their specialty coffee while raising their families. We want to help our clients convey accurate descriptions to their customers of what it is like living in a marginalized community, based on what we have witnessed, to help people understand that peace is built daily in Colombia.
We believe coffee is a vehicle for change, development, growth, and reconciliation, among others. For this reason, we support our producers through a learning-by-doing approach, which generates skills and know-how for our producers, creates lasting relationships with partner roasters and farmers, while empowering communities, and promoting peace in the process.
With headquarters in Cali, Colombia, we remain close to partner producers, associations, and cooperatives. Leveraging experience gained from working in conflict zones, we understand the dynamics and challenges each region poses. Producers see us as partners, allies, and friends as we help them harvest their dreams.
